if he only knew
how serious i was
last night

we would pack up today
tomorrow deep into the woods
willowy leaves
dropping
falling to a deep sleep
his arms

standing in line, waiting
heat of his skin
absent around me

we'll fill that house
swing from the porch

dance in the night
alongside the fireflies

warm hearts melting
melding into one

austin
illinois
boston

history in the making
