Jazz

"I want to point out that I only sent these poems to evvy for feedback – but it's her poetry section, so she can publish what she wants. Even the publisher's poetry. I've actually written quite a bit of poetry and fiction, have just never submitted much of it for publication, although I was published in Libido Magazine's online edition once."

Jazz

a microphone stand
clung to
like a life raft
her voice
the wispy tendrils
of water melting
from the ice
in amber bourbon

a horn solo
dancing
with blue smoke
slowly curling
to the ceiling

brushes on drums
knitting
the insistent pulse
that crinkle the sheets
beneath lonely moans
